The Collective – handcrafted mugs

This collection is inspired by the idea of the Collective. The distressed print on each mug is a small part of a larger whole, making each mug unique yet part of a larger family.

The Collective – handmade mugs in stoneware
  • Material: Ceramic stoneware, fired to 1200 degrees celsius
  • Capacity: About 220 ml
  • Usage: For so many things – from beverages to desserts, yoghurt and to serve dips.
  • Safe: Microwave, dishwasher & food safe
  • Packing: In elegant khaki boxes, write to us if this is a gift and we can have a handwritten note put in!

The mugs are glazed on the inside and retain the lovely natural matt of the clay on the outside.

The distressed pattern on the mugs is done in the monoprint transfer technique using a silk-screen I designed and made. So every bit of the process has been handmade and studiomade!

Image on the left shows the screen that was designed and made at the studio. On the left, is an image of the monoprint transfer made using this screen and ceramic ink which was also prepared at the studio.

Watch this video of how the ceramic ink was prepared at the studio!

The Collective – in a blue palette

The glazes I use are all my own recipes that I have developed over the years. We make the glazes ourselves at the studio. The mugs are made in stoneware clay from Rajasthan, India and matured at 1200 degrees celsius.
