I’ve had students of myriad backgrounds over the years, all wonderful people. We’ve done some serious pottery while havng a lot of fun too! Some of them have taken pottery up as a hobby and some as a full-time vocation.
Students using the Sgraffiato technique to decorate their pieces while glazing.
Sgraffiato comes from the Italian word graffiare which means “to scratch”. It’s a technique that dates back to 16th century European Art, seen in both wall decor as well as ceramics.
