How to recycle your clay
Step 1
● Clay can be recycled an infinite number of times until it is fired.
● Any clay that has hardened or an unfired piece that has broken can be kept aside for recycling
Step 2
● Put all the bits of clay that need to be recycled into a container of water
● Submerge the clay completely in water so that it breaks down uniformly
Step 3
Within a few hours or about a day, the dried bits of clay will break down completely into slip and settle down on the bottom of the container
Step 4
Remove all the excess water in the container with a sponge
Step 5
Mix all the lumps in the slip so that it has an absolutely smooth consistency
Step 6
Now put this slip out to dry on a cloth
Step 7
After a few hours when the clay has dried to a soft consistency and lost its stickiness, it is ready to use. Knead it and pack in an airtight container or a plastic bag. Store in a col place away from sunlight.
