Preparation of Clay at the Studio

Preparing a 1000 kilos of Stoneware Clay at the Studio.

Various minerals and types of clays are mixed together with water (strictly following my composition) and kneaded by leg for several hours. This gives the clay a uniform consistency. Once prepared they are stored away in plastic bags/ containers in a cool place away from sunlight so that they do not dry over time. As the clay ages over the coming months,  its plasticity increases and the clay becomes fantastically malleable to work with.

Unfired clay can be recycled infinite number of times 🙂
