2019 : 20th year of our studio practice

The two of us took up pottery twenty years ago.

We did it then because it made us happy and we do it now because it continues to do so.

In January 1999, while we were still students at Sir J.J. School of Art,  Aneela & I took the first steps of becoming full-time ceramic artists – we bought a potter’s wheel. The next month we had booked a gallery to do a show of handcrafted pottery called Simple Things. And then, simply put, there was no looking back.

20 years later, we are fortunate to continue living and practicing with the same ideology we started with two decades ago – to do some honest work.

A big shout out to the special people who have been a part of this journey, especially family. You embraced us for who we were and placed your faith in us against all the odds. This would have never been possible without you.

Some craziness at 3 am while setting up one of our shows. With Aneela and Priti, year 2005.

And some moments from our celebration at the studio in July 2019 to mark this special year:
